Prayer of the Week 

Every class has a prayer book, placed on their prayer tables. Our pupils write and share their prayers from this daily. There are prayers of thankfulness, intercessions and petitions for times when we may not have shown love. Our morning, lunchtime and afternoon prayers are carried out in class. Furthermore, we regularly say the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be. We have a range of different ways of starting our prayers:

Dear God,

God our Father,

Dear Lord,

Jesus, I ask that you,

Father, help me to

Please forgive me when,

Holy Spirit, guide my life so that I

Heavenly Father,

Bless us O God,

Act of Contrition

O my God because you are so good,

I am very sorry that I have sinned against you,

and with the help of your grace

I will not sin again.

During Collective Worship, we pray and worship in a variety of different ways and places. Many children and staff are often given the opportunity to carry out their own personal prayers as we gather together in one Body.

 

Prayer Tables

Our Prayer Tables are always liturgical and correspond to the colours of the church year.

Green (Growth and hope) - Ordinary Time 

Purple (Preparation, penance and sacrifice) - Lent and Advent

White (Celebration) - Easter and Christmas

Red  (Passion and blood) - Good Friday, Palm Sunday and Pentecost

Anti Bullying Week

 

 

During Anti bullying week, students carried out many team building activities and came into school wearing odd socks. This emphasised the importance of celebrating difference. A few students also shared their personal experience of having autism in front of their peers through poetry which they had prepared themselves. 

Together, we seek to cultivate excellent students and individuals who make a positive difference in our ever changing world, inspired by the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

 

 

 

Year four have been learning about Community in their RE lessons. They were asked:

Why should parents bring their children to be part of our school community?

Here are some of their responses;

You can worship God.

It's a Catholic school where you support and look out for each other.

Because of all the special people here.

We have masses and lots of clubs, that's good because we can unite. We can learn new skills, and help each other.

You can make lots of friends here. That's like Jesus and his disciples. He chose them by looking into their hearts.

Every day is a new adventure.

It's fun because you learn in a fun way. God would like this because he doesn't want us to be miserable.
